Novigrad Cittanova Winemakers’ Association
Wine is one of the most striking symbols of Istria, and local Istrian wines are known and appreciated throughout the world. A specific combination of natural conditions and traditional knowledge combined with modern technologies and the geographical position of the vineyards by the sea, perfect for the winegrowing, are the characteristics that have enabled Istrian winemakers to create recognizable products of the highest quality. In order to preserve the tradition of cultivating indigenous Istrian varieties, on February 10th 2015 winemakers from the area of Novigrad have founded the Novigrad Cittanova Winemakers’ Association. There are currently six winemakers in the Association, all of whom produce top quality wines: the Boutique Winery Moreno Ivančić, Ghira - Vina Mihelić, Vina P&P-Pervino, Vina Demark, Leonardo Palčić Wine and Škrlj Davor Vina.
These are people who have dedicated their lives to viticulture and winemaking and want to jointly promote their products. With a combined marketing strategy they will attend the events, presentations, exhibitions or fairs jointly, thus achieving the main goal of the Association - connecting and organizing the members with the aim of improvement and development of wine-growing and winemaking, as well as exchange of experiences and mutual support.
The Association unites and represents the interests of winegrowers and winemakers from the area of Novigrad, and therefore one of the goals is to expand the market for all members, while continuously improving the development of winegrowing and winemaking. Along with the above, the Association will provide the opportunity for the members to continuously refresh their knowledge through courses and raise the quality of their production to a higher level. Through the Association, the products of the members can be sold, in accordance with the conditions prescribed by special law, and accounting courses are also held. In addition, the Association participates at celebrations and events organized for promotional and tourist purposes by tourist boards and municipalities by providing catering services, preparing, and serving food and drinks in accordance with a special regulation.
